GLOBAL BUSINESS, SUPPLY CHAINS & STRATEGY
FROM PRODUCTION TO THE GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN
My studies in Production Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) include understanding not only how products are manufactured, but also how materials, information and products move through global supply chains.
Through coursework and projects, I work with topics including supply chain management, sourcing, procurement, inventory, logistics, production planning and supply chain network design. These areas connect production decisions with suppliers, transportation, capacity, cost and customer demand.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Supply chain management requires balancing efficiency with responsiveness. My studies examine how decisions concerning sourcing, inventory, production and distribution influence the performance of the complete supply chain.
I work with concepts such as strategic fit, supply chain drivers, inventory management, production capacity and total cost to understand how companies can structure supply chains around their business and customer requirements.
SUPPLY CHAIN NETWORK DESIGN
Another area of my studies is supply chain network design. This includes analysing where production facilities, warehouses and other operations should be located and how different locations affect cost and performance.
Through DTU cases, I have worked with methods including location analysis, total cost comparisons, break-even analysis, labour productivity and factor rating. These tools provide a structured basis for comparing alternative locations and production scenarios.
SOURCING & INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION
My interest in global supply chains also connects with practical experience from ZLCOPENHAGEN, where product development involves working across different countries, suppliers, materials and production environments.
This has given me a particular interest in international sourcing, supplier communication and the relationship between product requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
STRATEGY & GLOBAL BUSINESS
Production and supply chain decisions are ultimately business decisions. My studies therefore also include strategic analysis and understanding how companies align operations, resources and supply chains with longer-term objectives.
Combining strategy with Production Engineering helps me look beyond individual processes and understand the wider system connecting product development, suppliers, manufacturing, logistics and markets.
