I’m the creative force behind ZLCOPENHAGEN, and my interest in men’s crochet swimwear grew from a much earlier fascination with textiles and handmade techniques.
As a child in Aabenraa, Denmark, I spent countless hours experimenting with macramé, knitting, embroidery and simple crochet projects in schools and youth centres. Those early experiments developed into a deeper curiosity about materials, construction and handmade design.
Over time, I became fascinated by combining traditional crochet techniques with contemporary menswear. That eventually led to ZLCOPENHAGEN’s crochet swimwear for men — including crochet Speedos and swim briefs that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern beachwear design.
Each piece is handmade in Europe and can be customised to the wearer’s measurements, making fit an important part of the design process.
