SUPPORTING CANCER RESEARCH

MY PERSONAL MISSION TO SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH WITH THE BLACK RED PARACORD BRACELET

Cancer is personal to me. I lost my mother to breast cancer, and the pain is still with me. The Black Red Paracord Bracelet by ZLC is my way of raising awareness and contributing to cancer research.

The bold red symbolizes the fight, the passion, and the determination to overcome. It stands as a reminder that we must keep the conversation about cancer alive. The black lock represents the darkness of the struggle, but also the strength to move forward.

Each bracelet is handmade with care from sustainable materials and packed with precision. I’m doing my best to deliver something meaningful, though I’m only human—so bear with me if it takes time.

This isn’t just a bracelet—it’s a symbol of hope and awareness.

WHY ME

Many people ask why cancer exists, where it comes from, and why it takes those closest to us. If you are seeking answers, the history of cancer is a long one, with roots in ancient times. You can explore more about its background here. But when you’re in the middle of it, none of those facts can truly ease the emotional burden. The loss of a loved one can make the world feel dark and heavy. I know, because I’ve been there.

To get the perfect fit, measure your wrist at the wrist bone utilizing a standard (soft) measuring tape. If you do not have a soft measuring tape, wrap a ribbon around the wrist at the wrist bone, mark the spot where the ends meet, then lay the ribbon against a yardstick or ruler to determine approximate wrist size.

CANCER FIGHTING FOUNDATION

The Cancer Fighting Foundation is an NGO that supports cancer research, counselling, and prevention, including awareness around cancer cells, cancer in men, and cancer in bones. These are all causes we proudly support. That’s why we created this bracelet, named after our former model, Vladimir, who sadly lost his life to cancer.

IN HONOR OF VLADIMIR APPOLONOV

The red bracelet is named after Vladimir Appolonov, a former model for ZLCOPENHAGEN. A handsome young man, he was one of our first and finest models. Diagnosed with cancer in 2016, Vladimir tragically lost his battle with the disease, which affected cancer cells in multiple areas, including his bones.

VLADIMIR CANCER FIGHTING BRACELET

The Vladimir Cancer Fighting Bracelet is made from red eco-friendly parachute cord and features a masculine, solid metal lock. It is sold to support Testicular Cancer Awareness, with proceeds going toward cancer research, including research into cancer in men. The bracelet’s red colour symbolizes support for cancer research and charity. Approximately 300 men in Denmark are diagnosed with testicular cancer each year.

Half of the profits go directly to the Cancer Fighting Foundation, with a focus on Testicular Cancer. You can also read our blog article about Mikael’s story here.

Buy the bracelet and support the incredible work of the Cancer Fighting Foundation in researching cancer cells, especially cancer in men and cancer in bones.

Paracord was originally used for parachutes during World War II and has an estimated load capacity of 250 KG. The thin nylon cord has become synonymous with strength, courage, and survival. With a paracord bracelet on your wrist, you always have a strong and useful cord at hand. For our jewellery collection, we use recycled nylon. Paracord comes in many colours and patterns.

MAKE YOUR OWN PARACORD BRACELET

It’s simple and easy to make your own bracelet; you’ll need at least 3 meters of nylon cord and a clasp, which can be made of metal or a plastic buckle. See the English guide here. Alternatively, check out the Danish version here.

If it becomes too tricky, you can simply buy it online here.

A tip! If you’re creative and used to making jewellery, you can easily add a small compass in the middle of the bracelet.
