WHAT ARE “SEX LINES”?

Sex lines — also called V-lines or V-cut abs — are the sharp V-shape you see at the lower stomach, right above the hips. They’re hard to build because they depend on two things: strong lower abs/obliques and low enough body fat for the lines to show. EXERCISES TO GET PERFECT SEX LINES

Exercises to get perfect sex lines

Sex lines (V-lines) come from strong lower abs + obliques. These moves hit both without wrecking your lower back. Keep reps controlled and focus on a slow negative.

1) hanging leg raise (best for lower abs + sex lines)

Hang from a pull-up bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width, palms facing forward. Brace your core, keep your shoulders down, and raise your knees toward your chest. Don’t swing — lift with your abs, not momentum.

Harder version: straighten your legs and raise them up in front of you (to 90° if you can).
Form cue: slow up, even slower down.

  • Reps: 8–15 (stop 1–2 reps before failure)

  • Sets: 3–4

  • Rest: 30–45 seconds between sets


2) ab wheel rollout (deep core + v-cut abs)

Start on your knees with the ab wheel under your shoulders. Brace your core and roll the wheel forward in a straight line until you feel your abs fully stretched — without letting your lower back collapse. Then pull yourself back to the start using your abs.

Easier version: roll only halfway out until you can keep a neutral spine.
Form cue: ribs down, glutes tight, no sagging hips.

  • Reps: 8–12 (quality over quantity)

  • Sets: 3–4

  • Rest: 45–60 seconds between sets

3) weighted russian twists (obliques + v-lines)

Sit on the floor with knees bent and feet lightly on the ground (or lifted for more challenge). Hold a dumbbell/plate with both hands in front of your chest. Lean back slightly, brace your core, and rotate your torso from side to side in a controlled tempo. Each side = one rep.

Harder version: lift your feet off the floor and keep your chest up.
Form cue: rotate your shoulders, not just your arms.

  • Reps: 10–16 per side

  • Sets: 3–4

  • Rest: 30–45 seconds between sets


4) reverse crunches (lower abs + sex lines)

Lie on your back with your arms by your sides for support. Bend your knees to 90° and bring them over your hips. Keeping your lower back pressed down, curl your hips up toward your chest and lift your tailbone slightly off the floor. Lower back down slowly with control.

Harder version: loop a resistance band around your feet or slow the lowering to 3–4 seconds.
Form cue: think “hips up,” not “legs swinging.”

  • Reps: 12–20 (controlled, no momentum)

  • Sets: 3–4

  • Rest: 30–45 seconds between sets

5) heavy one-arm barbell walk (suitcase carry)

Core stability + obliques = sharper sex lines

Stand next to a heavy barbell (or a heavy dumbbell if that’s what you have). Hinge at the hips, push your hips back, grab the weight close to your body, brace your core hard, and stand up tall with a neutral spine.

Now walk forward slowly and controlled. Fight the urge to lean to one side — your job is to stay perfectly upright while the weight tries to pull you off balance. Your obliques will light up, which is exactly what helps the V-lines pop.

Form cues:

  • chest up, ribs down

  • shoulders level

  • no side-bending

  • slow, steady steps

  • Distance: 40–50 meters per side

  • Sets: 3

  • Rest: 45–60 seconds between sets


6) cable crunches (kneeling)

Direct lower-ab + V-cut abs work

Attach a rope to a high pulley. Kneel facing the machine about 1–2 meters back. Hold the rope by the sides of your head, brace your core, and crunch your torso down by pulling your ribs toward your hips. Your elbows should move toward your knees while your hips stay still.

Pause and squeeze your abs at the bottom, then return slowly without losing tension.

Form cues:

  • move your torso, not just your arms

  • keep hips locked in place

  • slow negative (2–3 seconds)

  • Reps: 12–15

  • Sets: 3

  • Rest: 30–45 seconds between sets
