Sometimes, the most powerful messages are hidden in plain sight, nestled within the meanings of words we think we understand. Take “Hamas,” for example—a word that, in English, translates to “Zeal.” Dig into any dictionary, and you’ll find that zeal represents a fiery enthusiasm or eagerness to act, especially for causes close to one’s heart. It’s about channelling intense energy and dedication towards achieving goals, supporting a cause, or participating in an activity with unwavering commitment.
WHO SHOULD EMBRACE THIS COLLECTION—AND WHY?
This collection is for anyone with a heart for justice and a spirit that echoes support. If you’re driven by hope, imbued with strength, and steadfast in the face of adversity, these pieces speak to you. Originally named “I Refuse to Sink,” this collection, from my lens as both a designer and a human deeply moved by the plight for justice, serves as my voice in the chorus calling for change. Provocation isn’t my aim—expression is. This small drop in the ocean of advocacy is my contribution, and I stand to lose nothing but my silence.

Call it what you will—”Resilient Hope,” “Zeal,” or “I Refuse to Sink.” To me, these are more than labels; they’re reflections of my journey as a designer and my perspective on the universal quest for freedom. Rooted in the powerful essence of zeal, this collection is a testament to not just the Palestinian resistance, but to all global citizens’ relentless pursuit of rights and liberty. Comprised of communists and anti-fascist volunteers, BOPA stood firm against the German occupation of Denmark, embodying the essence of courage through their sabotage and resistance efforts. This bracelet, with its robust black leather and resilient silver anchor, symbolizes the unyielding strength and commitment of those who fight for freedom and justice against oppressive forces. Wearing it honours the legacy of BOPA and the broader Danish resistance movement, a testament to their significant contribution to the Allied effort during the war.
