THE PROCESS

TURNING WASTE INTO GARMENTS –

A CONTINUOUS LOOP WITH ECONYL®

ZLCOPENHAGEN uses ECONYL® regenerated nylon to create something you would love to wear. It can be a nylon based jewelry, like the parachute cord or our swimwear collection shorts and briefs, which are entirely made from ECONYL® – a regenerated nylon fiber coming from waste such as fishing nets, fabrics scraps, spent carpets and plastic components. We decided to incorporate Eco-friendly fabrics and responsible textile manufacturing processes to garments for both sport and leisure.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We collaborate exclusively with companies which business practice is in accordance with environmental responsibility and sustainability. We use a fabric made with the ECONYL® yarn coming from regenerate waste in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cut down energy consumption and diminish the accumulation of non-degradable trashes.

AND WHAT WE ALSO DO…

We prove through our business practice, that it is possible to indulge in high-quality stuff while keeping your conscience cleaned. We acknowledge that in the big picture it is very little we contribute. That’s why we constantly are looking for new ideas and focus on new areas which should be improved.

FROM WASTE TO FASHION

Assumption: Each ZLC swimsuit (fabric only) has a weight of about 80 gram – medium size. And it contains 78% ECONYL® fiber, which represents 62.4g in total. As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® regenerated nylon is also better when it comes to climate change.

It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared with the material from oil. Such a project will surely recover the raw material, high-quality fishing nets, certain or from countries like the following relationships: Pakistan, USA, Norway, Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Canada & Thailand
