SOCKS
Socks, often thought of as basic items, are normally taken for granted. Most of us happen to leave it on the floor, under the bed, or put them randomly under the shoes, without giving it much importance that they deserve. But unlike this treatment, they deserve some mad props for keeping our moisturized and stinky feet dry and warm and making it more comfortable when wearing shoes.
Sock are manufactured in multiple lengths, sizes and designs. Often, there are different types of socks to be worn on casual and non-casual occasions. While the low-cut socks, which are generally extended to ankles, are worn with boat shoes usually in sports, business socks or dress socks is a term that refers to dark or black coloured socks for formal and casual footwear.
Besides its primary role of absorbing perspiration socks also help to warm up cold feet in cold environments that not only relieve our feet on chilly nights but also decrease the chances of frostbite. ZLC, a trustworthy brand, takes everything mentioned above into consideration while manufacturing the socks. ZLC black socks are made with quality fabric and material that make the socks comfortable to wear while giving them a unique style.
HISTORY
It may appear hard to believe but socks are probably the oldest type of wear that still exists today. Even before the time when there was no concept of trousers or t-shirts – precisely in the stone age – socks existed in different styles and sizes.
However, dating back to the stone age, probably around 5000 BC, the first socks that our cavemen ancestors had worn, was not at all similar to the kind of socks that we wear today. Unlike today, those rudimentary socks were long and were made of some animal skins. By the 5th century, the holy people of Europe started to wear a certain type of socks called “puttees” which symbolized purity and cleanliness. With the advent of the middle ages, the length of socks gradually extended and they became more coloured and bright in look. By 1000, socks had become the symbol of royalty in Europe. However, during that time socks resembled the kind of leggings until the 12th century when feet were also added to them. Modern times have brought a revolution to these little pieces of clothing by introducing new styles and manufacturing fabric.
With the invention of nylon in 1938, there was a new revolution in sock-making. Today socks — both for men and women — come in different sizes styles and shapes to be worn on occasions both formal or informal.
